Planning & Design
It is so important when deciding on a Refurbishment that the chosen layout is that which best suits the needs of the business, not only for the present day but also for the future.
Careful planning is essential right from the start, even on the smallest projects, to make sure you are totally clear on the objectives you want to achieve and the results that are required.
We make the planning and design process as simple as possible.
On our first visit, we will complete a full measurement survey of the area involved, and discuss with you your specific requirements.
At this point a member of our staff, trained on our Computer Aided Design system, and with full knowledge of the modern refurbishment technology, will be briefed on the project and designated as the Project Manager. They will then be responsible for the project.
Before a quotation is given, scaled designs and conceptual ideas will be submitted for your approval. Once a layout and specification is agreed, a firm quotation will be given.
With your instruction to proceed with the project, we will then prepare time-scale plans to ensure all works are carried out efficiently, safely and with as little disruption to your operations as practicably as possible.
A complementary service we offer is the compilation of a full swatch board covering all the different elements involved in the refurbishment. This will show how the colours and textures will look once put together and really does give you a good idea of the overall impression.
Local Authority Approval
In instances where Building Regulation Approval is required, all drawings, engineering calculations and specifications produced by ourselves, are submitted with the relevant application forms to the Local Authority on your behalf.
We respond to any queries that may be raised until the necessary approval is obtained.
We do not charge for the above service, although it is important to remember that Fees payable to the Local Authority will be passed onto yourselves.
If speed is of the essence and you do not have time to wait for written approval from the Council, we can commence with the works provided we give the Local Authority the 72 hours statutory notice that they require.
With many years of experience dealing with Building Regulation approval we are very aware of the latest legislations in place and can advise before commencement of any works of the different aspects that will be required. These include such matters as :
- Fire Escape Routes
- Adequate Smoke Detection
- Emergency Lighting
- Fire Protection
- Ventilation
When quoting a ‘complete’ refurbishment we ensure that every aspect to obtain Building Regulation Approval is covered.
